Bicolor Level Gauges

Scope of application:

Level gauge is intended for use in steam at a pressure up to 180 bar (saturation temperature 355,5 ˚C). Glasses mounted in the housing are not parallel but at an angle to each other. In order to obtain the bicolor reading (red-green) level gauge is equipped with a backlight with appropriate filters.

Reading:

water area:     green
steam area:     red

If the indication of level gauge is transmitted at a distance (eg. to the control room) using CCTV, lighting of level gauge is not equipped with color filters, but with a shutter with a narrow gap, making the monitor receives a contrasting black-and-white indication.

Operating.

Bicolor level gauge is constructed as a transparent level gauge, except that the central portion of the body has a cross section of the wedge. The backlight is additionally equipped with filters which transmits only the red and green component of white light. In the water area red component is deflected and absorbed, while green component passes through the water. The reverse thing happens in the area of steam - the green component is absorbed and the reading is red.

Operating of bicolor level gauge

Direct reading version.

Bicolor level gauges were specially developed for use in high-pressure boilers. They can be installed in vertical position only. For remote transmission of reading can be used special mirror system (eg periscope). In the highlight with protection IP 20 are commonly used commercially available light bulbs. Alternatively, LED diodes can also be used.

Version to cooperate with CCTV (black - white).

In this case, the backlight for reading the red-green must be replaced by another, giving an indication of black - white. In this variant whole illumination being replaced, not only filters.
